If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him. James 1:5

As I continue my studies in the book of James, I come across this verse in James chapter 1. Here he let’s us know three things:

1. God is our Source: When we lack something, God is our Source of provision.
2. No Favoritism: It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’ve been, what you know or  how much you have. His throne of grace is open to all.
3. Faith: You must ask in faith believing that you will receive what you have asked for.

If we glance back at James 1:4, we see his emphasis on the real issue that we DO go through times of lack, whether it be wisdom, patience or daily needs:

But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing.

God’s desire for us is that we be complete, lacking nothing. For this we need to trust in Him and ASK Him for whatever our lack may be. Why? Doesn’t he already know what we have need of before we ask?

Yes. He does, but we serve a relational God. A God who wants to hear you speak to him and share your heart with him.

So, in light of James 1:4-5, what are some areas you can ask God for wisdom in? Ask in faith and He will give you what you need.

We are here to pray for you and with you 😉
