Just a few days ago, I had the privilege of visiting Hawaii for the first time and experienced the Word of Life- DEVOTED 2013 Women’s Conference! There was one more factor that made this year’s conference extra special; it was the 25th ANNIVERSARY as well. It was beautiful to see a woman such as Pastor Kuna Sepulveda being honored for 25 years of faithful service, heart and devotion to the women’s ministry.
God has been stirring my heart for quite a while now regarding women’s ministry. When I was invited to this conference I knew that God was going to show me what He has in store for me…and that He did!
As I first packed my bags, I told God I just wanted to be a sponge and learn and absorb from these women who have been faithful in ministry and have touched the lives of so many. I was reminded of the book of Titus chapter 2 verses 3-5 which reads:
Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers.a Instead, they should teach others what is good. 4These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, 5to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes,b to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.
Wow! I am so thankful for these women and mentors, who have DEVOTED themselves to loving God, being obedient to His Word and willing to teach the younger generation about living a life of purpose. That’s what the resounding theme of this year’s conference was to me. Living a Life with Purpose!
Faith Out of the Box
God has a calling for our lives. Whether you know what that calling is or are still trying to figure it out, remember that the journey is as important as the destination. We are to enjoy our endeavor in the “searching” and “seeking.” Yes we know the ultimate destination is heaven, but don’t miss out on life here in the present. Live a life with purpose and faith out of the box.
What does this mean? It means you don’t put limits on yourself or on God. It means you have the kind of faith we read about in Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
I had the privilege of learning from Pastor Charne Pretorius from 3C South Africa. OMG! This women is on FI’YAH! lol Amazing woman after God’s own heart that preached the word of God with authority and confidence! The words she shared with us really hit home to me. She said ” you were meant to be fully alive in your element.”
We aren’t meant to just exist or get by. We weren’t meant to live mediocre lives! Find out what is it that moves you, and go after it! This IS what God wants for us! John 10:10 reads:
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
God desires for us to not only have life but to have it to the FULL!
I also had the honor to learn from Cheryl Salem! This woman is n amazing worship leader and Bible teacher! She escorted us into God’s presence and it was beautiful!
How can I forget the Osteen Family! Thank you to Mrs. Dodie Osteen, Lisa Osteen Comes and April Osteen for sharing from the hearts, being real and showing us that life will be tough but with Christ ALL things are possible! We must keep on going.
Over all it was awesome! Next year’s conference is already set on the calendar! Swing by Word of Life Hawaii and check it out for yourselves!
