In the previous In Her Shoes post, I briefly spoke about these particular verses found in the book of Titus, that exhort the older women to teach/ mentor the younger women in the issues of life. When I came across this picture, it made me want to revisit these verses and look deeper and really think about what this kind of woman looks like. So let’s read it together and find out…
Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers.a Instead, they should teach others what is good. 4These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, 5to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes,b to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.
Observation #1: Live in a way that honors God.
Observation #2: Teach others what is good.
Observation #3: Train/mentor/teach younger women in being godly women, wives, mothers, daughters, friends.
If you’re like me, you really appreciate the words of wisdom and experience that another godly woman can impart into your life. So whether you’re the younger one receiving advice or the seasoned one giving the advice, remember that we all have the opportunity to invest in someone else.
So, what does a Titus 2 Woman look like? A woman who invests in the lives of others while not compromising her own. You need to walk the talk, so you can teach the talk.
Let’s strive to be Titus 2 woman who impact the next generation and leaves behind a godly legacy.
